about the Indie Training Fund
ITF is a registered charity that aims to improve the competitiveness of UK independent television and digital media production companies.
It is established, funded and run by its Member Companies, whose donations are invested strategically in appropriate training and development initiatives.
ITF works in partnership with industry bodies including Pact, Skillset, BECTU, broadcasters, and other training providers. It has signed up to the Cultural Diversity Network Pledge.
where the money comes from…
Member Companies make annual donations to ITF to fund training initiatives for the sector, including ITF’s short courses programme, in.indie scheme, open forum events, and the newly launched ITF Freelancer scheme.
ITF is a major contributor to the Skillset TV Skills Fund which subsidises essential training for in-demand skills such as multiplatform and leadership.
ITF delivers
ITF provides half-day and full-day courses for TV and digital media practitioners and bespoke development for its member companies – all this training is heavily subsidised.

“The Indie Training Fund has been one of the huge success stories of the sector. It’s entirely voluntary but every year raises hundreds of thousands of pounds which are used to provide both companies and freelancers with access to top quality training.”
