MGEITF Fast Track

tell me about ITF

Thanks for clicking through. You already know that we sponsored the ‘Small Screen, Big Business’ Fast Track at this year’s MGEITF. You may even remember that Tern TV (whose MD, David Strachan, introduced the session) and Endemol (whose CEO, Tim Hincks, was the guest speaker) are both members of ITF. But we’re much more than that, and we’re here to support you in developing your career in tomorrow’s television.

ITF is a charity supported solely by the voluntary donations of its media production company members. We provide day and half-day courses in London and around the UK delivered by expert practitioners for indie TV and digital media professionals on production, creative development, cross-platform, diversity, business, legal and people management skills. Member Companies also benefit from our unique in.indie development service which is tailored to individual needs. ITF works in partnership with broadcasters, screen agencies and industry bodies including Pact, BECTU, Skillset and the CDN.

let’s get down to the nitty gritty,
how can ITF help develop my career
?

Enjoy amazing training and benefits,
as a Freelancer or indie company employee

Freelancer

If you are a freelancer, consider joining our brand new ITF Freelancer scheme which offers genuinely useful ways to learn for less and get on in the industry. ITF Freelancers pay the lowest possible rates for all ITF short courses, they get invited to ITF Open Forums which are great for friendly debate on industry hot topics, and networking with leading indies, and they receive regular e-mails with training news and offers, including priority information on events and bursaries..

indie company employee

If you work for an indie, it may already be a Member Company and contributing to ITF. As such, its staff will have access to heavily subsidised ITF training, and may have access to our ‘in.indie’ scheme offering in-house development. Ask your Human Resources or Production Manager for more details, particularly if you see an ITF short course that may benefit you. And if your indie is not a member, well, we’d be delighted if you nudged them to find out about joining as a company.

bursaries when you need them

ITF believes in giving back. Our Company Member contributions are continually reinvested in industry training and development, including the Skillset TV Freelance Fund, to which we are a major contributor alongside UK broadcasters. This TVFF finances a range of bursaries which address TV skill shortages. Find out more, and how to apply through these links:
