training on request

As well as its regular scheduled short courses in London, ITF arranges training events all over the UK which can be tailored to local needs, and are sometimes staged in partnership with Skillset and its Media Academies, or previously with national and regional screen agencies.

They are all led by expert specialist practitioners and trainers. They typically cover TV and digital media production, creative development, business, legal, finance and people management areas – see our list of current short courses available on request.

Each of our learning events is aimed at specific work roles ranging from senior executives and heads of production, HR or finance to producer/directors, production & project managers and co-ordinators to APs, researchers and runners.

ITF has for example previously arranged many highly acclaimed training events in Leeds in partnership with Screen Yorkshire. These have included a Producers’ Guide to Formats, Finding and Interviewing Programme Contributors, Coping with Archive Clips, an Introduction to Music Copyright, and Principles of Production Insurance.

Kim Heeramun, Business Skills Officer at Screen Yorkshire, commented:
“Our partnership  with ITF has really flourished over the past six months, with 5 joint events planned so far to run in Leeds, and more in the pipeline for autumn 2009. Bringing such a highly regarded training provider to the region to deliver  these valuable courses out of London is really important for Northern indies to stay competitive. Several of the events we’ve run have been oversubscribed, which demonstrates  the consistently high appetite for skills development in the regions.”

Screen Yorkshire delegate quotes:
“The course really opened by eyes. It was great to pick up the course tutor’s knowledge and experience, and as we face formats internationally next year it means we’re so much better prepared” – Producers Guide to Formats

“Excellent tutor and great supplementary handout materials.  Great value for money and a thorough guide to a complex area” - Coping with Archive Clips
